It was good to welcome back some people who had not been with us for a while.
We drank nine bottles of what was effectively the house wine at £14.90 a bottle. The layout of the restaurant meant that the configuration of the table was not the most ideal, but I do not think anyone missed out because of it. Service was extremely friendly, and generally good, but the restaurant was not full. Food was good, and competitively priced. The bill came to £29 a head, which was generally thought to be good value. I think that everyone enjoyed themselves, including the new attendees.

  1. I’m familiar with The Stockpot. It has few pretensions, and a certain “retro” quality. The food, however, is pretty good, especially for the price (£29.00 per head), and the service friendly and efficient (except for one person’s very simple starter which took ages to arrive despite reminders).

A very enjoyable evening, well-attended, with one or two new faces.
